• These are not chrome-tanned leather
• Each piece of leather has its own unique characteristics. We start with a large cowhide and hand-cut pieces to minimize waste

• We mix alcohol-based dyes with neatsfoot oil and airbrush each journal by hand
• Each combination creates a unique color. We do our best to stay within the range of our color samples — but each journal is handmade

Yes. Each journal is airbrush-finished with Resolene to protect the color and leather. It makes each piece water resistant.

• Mostly by using it — veg-tanned leather darkens and softens with handling, and that is the point
• Condition it once or twice a year, or whenever it starts to feel dry, with a neutral leather conditioner or neatsfoot oil. Less is more
• Keep it away from direct heat. Heat is what actually ruins leather, and it does it permanently

All of the artwork was designed by Kasey Bracken and then laser-engraved directly onto the leather.

• Journal orders come standard with lined paper (unless purchased in person at Pike Place Market)
• Blank art paper (180gsm) is available for watercolor, sketching, and other art mediums — 50 sheets per packet (100 pages)
• Lined paper is 100gsm, thicker than standard stationery — 120 sheets per packet (240 pages)

• EDC: 3x5 index cards (80mm x 123mm)
• Traveler: A6 (105mm x 170mm)
• Luxe: A5 (148mm x 210mm)

You can buy paper refills from our shop page, in both lined and art paper across all three sizes. We recommend buying directly from us so you know exactly what you will receive.
